I cannot talk about this anymore or it will break me. This place and the way it is failing to conduct itself toward action as this situation develops further with each passing day is enough to make a person want to stand up and scream at the top of their lungs. And still, not much of a peep out of anyone but talk talk talk on the radio and TV, rehashing the same shit they're been rehashing since the good times. It's like a never-ending coda that the band keeps replaying and replaying.

Schools are still operating out of portable buildings; on the media rota since I was here for my first short visit in 2000.

Old woman is turned away from 4 hospitals in one evening because the health service is in such disarray; on the rota since whenever.

Fianna Fail is ineffective in it's leadership; on the rota since (or well before) Haughey.

No one will inject energy into their public condemnation of our public figures. The term "inadequacies" is bandied around with all the effectiveness of a flaccid herring. Since all we can do is talk and never take action about anything, in good economic times or bad, I see no precedent or impetus for getting mad, nor for sticking around and fighting for the future of this benighted country.
